Seminar
The seminars will address: the problem of empathy and communication in professional doctor-patient and doctor-medical team relationships, conveying unfavorable information (SPIKES and EMPATHY protocol), the International Charter of Humanistic Values in Health Care. Barriers to building a professional relationship with the patient and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Lecture
The lectures cover the main issues related to medical professionalism: an introduction to the topic of medical professionalism, a sketch of the issues of medical professionalism - relations between doctors and other medical and non-medical staff, relations with patients and their families and their culture and the broad social context, the quality of treatment and errors and their reporting, time management issues, on-call management, burnout, changes in healthcare and patient safety, and communication issues; scientific work, academia, doctor-medical companies, doctor outside the workplace and on the Internet.
