The Department of Emergency Medicine of School of Public Health focuses its didactic and scientific activities in the field of medical rescue activities undertaken by emergency medical teams as well as emergency medicine and disasters.
The main task of the Department of Emergency Medicine is to shape and propagate the habit of providing self-aid in the pre-hospital phase and under supervision in health care facilities to people in a state of sudden health risk.
Practical classes are carried out in rooms adapted to the assessment of practical skills using high-fidelity simulations. Medical equipment and apparatus used in Medical Rescue Teams and in Hospital Rescue Departments are also used. Apprenticeships are held in units of the State Medical Rescue System (Medical Rescue Teams, Hospital Emergency Departments, Air Ambulance Service) and units cooperating with it (State Fire Service).
